Getting Involved

As members of USA Field Hockey, get out and take advantage of your competitions and events. Mentor young coaches and officials and support the athletes.

Through your continued support, USA Field Hockey programs and initiatives in development continue to blossom.

• Olympic Development and Futures Talent Identification
  
  The U.S. Field Hockey Futures Program remains one of the nation’s top programs for developing talented athletes. Bolstered by the new USA Field Hockey Training Center in Virginia Beach, Futures enrollment in the region increased approximately by 100% in 2002 with many of the region’s college coaches lending their skills to the program.
  
  Nationwide, the program experienced a 3.5% gain in 2002.
   

• Grassroots development programs
  
  At the grass roots level, plans are underway to empower local and regional coordinators with the administration of the sport within their geographical areas. This strategy allows local members, who are most familiar with the issues and needs of their state or region, to develop the best programs for their area. Your membership fees will help initiate these local offices as they seek to develop the sport through clubs, leagues, summer programs, men’s hockey and other opportunities at the regional level. • Elite Team Development
  As the recognized National Governing Body for field hockey in the United States by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and United States Olympic Committee (USOC), U.S. Field Hockey is responsible for the training and selection of your U.S. National Teams for competition in the Olympic Games,  Pan American Games, World Cup and other international competitions

• Educational and Development Programs
  U.S. Field Hockey conducts clinics, camps, exhibitions and professional development programs to provide for the growth of the sport while providing continuing education to established players, coaches and umpires.
