2008 National Futures Championships and Regional Rumble

USA Field Hockey will be hosting our annual event once again in Virginia Beach, June 21 – 26, 2008.  The National Futures Championship highlights the top athletes in the Futures Tournament.  The Regional Rumble runs in conjunction with the National Futures Championship and highlights additional Futures athletes.  There will be over 1,200 athletes competing.

Umpire Coach Certification:  On Friday, June 20, prior to the start of the event, USA Field Hockey will be offering the annual an Umpire Coach Training course.  Umpires who are Level II or above rated are eligible to be certified as a USA Field Hockey Umpire Coach.   Registration for Umpire Coach Certification will open in mid March.  Additional information on the course will be sent in a couple of weeks.

Umpire Development:   Umpires appointed to both the NFC and RR will be included in our on site umpire development efforts.  A team of Umpire Coaches will be assigned the NFC and RR and will work with each umpire during the 5 day event.  

Ratings:   Umpires appointed to the NFC may seek Level II renewal and initial ratings.  Umpires appointed to the RR may renew Level I ratings.  All umpires must have a Level I rating to be eligible for appointment to the Regional Rumble.   

Compensation:   Umpires appointed to the NFC and RR will receive travel, meals, and hotel plus umpire development training. 

Sign up:   USA Field Hockey Umpire membership is required to register. Sign up is available online through your member log-in.  Umpires will be notified of their appointments by April 15th.
