AAU Junior Olympic Games
Held August 2-8 in Norfolk, Va., the AAU Junior Olympic Games featured one hundred and twenty field hockey athletes divided into eight teams teams. Participants at the Junior Olympics were selected from the U16 division of the National Futures Tournament.
Based on their performances at the Junior Olympic tournament, 16 athletes were selected to the U.S. Women's Under-16 Team.
The 32nd AAU Junior Olympic Games featured 12,000 athletes from 50 states and various US Territories and US Military Bases around the world competing in 24 different sports.
