Futures Region 11 Trial Information
Check here for information on how athletes are selected into the Futures Program in Region 11.
The Futures Program is the Olympic Developmental Program of USA Field Hockey. The purpose of the Futures Program is to identify 'future' Olympic level athletes and to raise the level of hockey throughout the United States.
Athletes may enter the Futures Program by:
1. Attending a scheduled National Standardized Regional Trial
2. Attending a USA Field Hockey Sanctioned Camp and meeting the camp recommendation procedures
3. Attending the USA Field Hockey H.S. Open Camp
4. Through Coach Recommendations or Paper Trials if available in your area
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER FOR FUTURES TRYOUTS IF YOU ARE A CURRENT FUTURES PARTICIPANT WHO HAS MET THE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT.
TO DETERMINE YOUR AGE GROUP:
Take your age on January 1, 2009.
If you are 13 or under on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U14 age group.
If you are 14 or 15 on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U16 age group.
If you are 16 or older on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U19 age group.
To Register for the Tryout:
1. Go to the top of the page where it says membership Log-In
2. Click on membership Log-in
3. Select Event Registration located on the left hand side
4. Choose the correct Age-Group and Site and click on the tab
5. Follow all steps through registration
Tryouts for 2009 Futures:
Northern California:
To be determined - Sprinng/Summer 2008
Central California
To be determined - Spring/Summer 2008
Southern California
To be determined - Spring/Summer 2008
ATHLETES MUST REGISTER ONLINE PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE TRYOUT.
TO REGISTER: Go to Futures Home, then membership login and look for Event Registration on the left side of the screen. Scroll down to Region 11 and choose the age-group and tryout location. You must be a USFHA member to tryout.
Important Information:
Athletes MUST bring code of conduct, waiver form, and confirmation of registration
Athletes must bring hockey stick, mouth guard, shin guards, and water bottle
Athletes must wear dark blue or black shorts and bring a dark blue shirt and a white shirt. Please do not wear apparel with excessive decorations or school/college logos.
Water, Sun lotion.
Goalies need to bring their own equipment
Turf shoes or sneakers-No cleats please
Cost of Registration: $20 Tryout Fee and the athlete must be a current member of USA Field Hockey
