Futures Region 9 Trial Information
The Futures Program is the Olympic Developmental Program of USA Field Hockey. The purpose of the Futures Program is to identify 'future' Olympic level athletes and to raise the level of hockey throughout the United States.
Athletes may enter the Futures Program by:
1. Attending a scheduled National Standardized Regional Trial
2. Attending a USA Field Hockey Partner Camp and meeting the camp recommendation procedures
3. Attending the USA Field Hockey H.S. Open Camp
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER FOR FUTURES TRYOUTS IF YOU ARE A CURRENT FUTURES PARTICIPANT WHO HAS MET THE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT
TO DETERMINE YOUR AGE GROUP:
Take your age on January 1, 2009.
If you are 13 or under on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U14 age group.
If you are 14 or 15 on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U16 age group.
If you are 16 or older on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U19 age group.

ATHLETES MUST REGISTER FOR THE TRY OUT ONLINE PRIOR TO THE POSTED DEADLINE IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE TRY OUT. THERE IS NO WALK UP REGISTRATION.

Athletes MUST bring code of conduct, waiver form, and CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION FOR THE TRY OUT. You CANNOT participate without them.
Athletes must bring hockey stick, mouth guard, shin guards, and water bottle
Athletes must wear dark blue or black shorts and bring a dark blue shirt and a white shirt. Please do not wear apparel with excessive decorations or school/college logos.
Water, Sun lotion.
Goalies need to bring their own equipment
Turf shoes or sneakers-No cleats please
Cost of Registration: $25 Tryout Fee and the athlete must be a current member of USA Field Hockey

Athletes may attend the try out site closest to them, for their convenience. If you are unable to attend a try out at the site closest to you, you may attend a try out at another site. ATHLETES SELECTED FOR THE FUTURES PROGRAM WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A SITE BY THE REGIONAL COACHING DIRECTORS. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF PLACEMENT AT A SPECIFIC SITE. SELECTED ATHLETES WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A SITE BASED ON THE SPACE AVAILABLE. REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR ALL SELECTED ATHLETES WILL ARRIVE IN THE MAIL BY LATE SEPTEMBER.
