FUTURES 2009 - TRIAL INFORMATION
**NEW INFORMATION**
The Futures Program is the Olympic Developmental Program of USA Field Hockey. The purpose of the Futures Program is to identify 'future' Olympic level athletes and to raise the level of hockey throughout the United States.
Region 3(CT & RI) Athletes may enter the Futures Program by:
1. Attending a USA Field Hockey Sanctioned Camp and meeting the camp recommendation procedures. More information on sanctioned camps: http://www.usfieldhockey.com/programs/camps/index.htm
2. Attending the USA Field Hockey High School Open Camp and be recommended to the Futures Program. H.S Open Camp is being held on July 1-4, 2008 at Babson College, Babson Park, MA. For more information: http://www.usfieldhockey.com/super/
3. Through Paper Trials *NEW TO REGION 3*
All athletes will now have an opportunity to enter the futures program through 'Paper Trials'
Having their high school or approved club coach skill test the athlete. Athletes choosing to enter via this method must register online prior to the testing. This is considered Paper Trials.
* All High School/Middle School/Club Coaches from CT & RI have received the 2009 Futures Paper Trial packet via mail. Paper Trial results are due in the Regional Coaching Director's office by September 30, 2008. A $25 fee applies to all applicants.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER FOR FUTURES TRYOUTS IF YOU ARE A CURRENT FUTURES PARTICIPANT WHO HAS MET THE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT (Minimum 60%)
TO DETERMINE YOUR AGE GROUP:
Take your age on January 1, 2009.
If you are 13 or under on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U14 age group.
If you are 14 or 15 on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U16 age group.
If you are 16 or older on January 1, 2009, then you are in the U19 age group.
