USA Field Hockey Selection Procedures for the 2007 Pan American Games and 2008 Olympic Games
As the National Governing Body for the sport, the United States Field Hockey Association prepares teams for participation in the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, World Cup and many other international competitions.
The U.S. Field Hockey elite team programs include national and junior level squads for both men and women.
USA FIELD HOCKEY WOMEN'S TEAMS
USA Field Hockey's premier women's squad, the U.S. National team represents the United States at top international events including the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and World Cup.
Selections for the National Team are conducted periodically throughout the year.
The next step in the development of the athlete, this age-group team continues the training of the athlete with various international tours and tournaments.
The U21 team is selected during the Elite Team Trials in the Summer. Members of the team are eligible for competition in events such as the Junior Pan American Championships and the Junior World Cup.
USA FIELD HOCKEY MEN'S TEAMS
USA Field Hockey's premier men's squad, the U.S. National Team represents the United States in international competitions such as the Olympic and Pan American Games.
The U.S. Junior Squad continues the developmental process for young men through international and domestic competition. The Junior Squad represents the USA at events such as the Pan American Junior Championships and the FIH Junior World Cup.
