The United States Field Hockey Association’s National Coaching Staff is offering an open Forum at the Finals to coaches during the NCAA championship, November 19-20 on the Wake Forest University campus. The Forum site is within walking distance of the Wake Forest turf facility.

USA Field Hockey’s acting women’s National Team coach, Nick Conway will serve as the featured speaker at the Forum. Coach Conway attended the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens as both a USA Field Hockey observer and commentator for NBC, and has brought back myriad hockey information to share with our hockey coaches.   Much of his discussions will be based on video from the Games.  Tracey Fuchs, USA Field Hockey’s women’s Junior National Team Coach; Shiv Jagday, Men’s National Team coach; and Justine Sowery, USA Goalkeeping Coach; will assist Coach Conway throughout the Forum.

Forum Invitations are extended to all coaches desiring a perspective of coaching at the national level.  The presentations will be filled with insightful information on coaching basic skills and techniques, and are sure to enlighten coaches at all levels.  Futures Coaches will benefit from attending the Forum, and the Olympic Development division of USA Field Hockey will give Futures Coaching Certification credit for the 2005 Futures year to all coaches attending the program.

Forum Format:  Participants should plan to arrive by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov.19.  There will be a morning session from 9:00 a.m. until noon and an afternoon session from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.  As part of the Forum, all participants will be requested to watch the NCAA semifinal games at 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.  A portion of Saturday’s session will focus on the NCAA semifinal games. Saturday’s session will begin at 12:30 p.m. after the YES Clinic and end by 5:30 p.m.

Course Fee:  The course fee is $150.00.  Participants must be members of USA Field Hockey to attend.  Participants are responsible for their own transportation, room, meals and NCAA championship semifinals/finals admission tickets.
