Fuchs, Presidents 11 Team Down Australia, 4-3 Alexandria, Egypt. U.S. Field Hockey captain Tracey Fuchs and the elite President's 11 team downed defending World and Olympic champion Australia, 4-3, in the commemorative match celebrating the FIH 75th Anniversary. Composed of some of the world's top players, the President's 11 team spotted the Australians a 2-0 lead before coming back to take the match in the last minute of play. After a scoreless first half, FIH Women's Player of the Year Alyson Annan put the Australians on the board early in the second half, and Michelle Andrews increased the Aussie lead to 2-0. The President's 11 struck back to tie the game at 2-2 on goals by Germany's Britta Becker and South Africa's Pietie Coetzee before taking the lead on another Coetzee goal. Katrina Powell brought Australia back to tie the game at 3-3, until Argentina's Karina Masotta notched the game-winner with a minute remaining. In the men's game, The Netherlands downed the President's 11, 4-1 on a pair of goals by Karel Klaver and scores by Teun de Nooijer and Remco van Wijk. Canada's Peter Milkovich scored the only goal for the President's 11 team on a penalty corner flick late in the first half.
