Twenty-one players were selected at the Men's National Championship for the senior roster. Conway has reserved three spots for possible returning veteran members.

"That will bring us up to a young and talented squad of 24 players," said Conway.

The USA Field Hockey Men's National Team program looks to build on their silver medal performance at the 2009 Pan American Cup in March, where the USA were barely edged out by Canada in overtime. With the second place finish, the USA qualified for one of three World Cup qualifying tournaments to be held in November or December. The 2010 World Cup will be held in New Delhi, India.

"Obviously, we have the great opportunity to continue to grow this group to play in the World Cup qualifier," said Conway. "Hopefully, we're looking to continue on with our positive performances and build on the silver medal from the 2009 Pan Am Cup."

Conway also selected a Men's Developmental Squad, which currently feature ten athletes who were members of the 2009 Men's Junior World Cup Team.

"We're excited about the senior development group," said Conway. "With the Under-21 cycle just finishing, there are a few players who just competed in the Men's Junior World Cup who aren't quite at the level to crack the senior side. We don't want to lose them. We want to keep them in the system and work with them, so as we move forward to 2012 and beyond, these guys will fill spaces in the senior squad."

Conway also announced selections for a Junior National Team.

"We've created an Under-18 for the next Junior World Cup cycle," said Conway. "We have a fresh group with some familiar faces that we've seen over the years, and we're really impressed with the depth and quality of play in that junior group. We when started this process three or four years ago, we had nowhere near the quality and depth that we do now. We expect great things out of this group moving forward. We'll start this U18 team with a training camp at the end of July and a trip to Canada to play the British Columbia side."
