USA Field Hockey Names Gabrielle Lewis Director of Core Business Operations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Field Hockey has named Gabrielle Lewis as Director of Business Operations.
    In her new position, Lewis will assist in the planning and management of USA Field Hockey's core business unites within the areas of High Performance, Olympic Development and Member Services.

 

"I am so excited to join such a great organization" said Lewis. "Hockey has been a big part of my family's life and it is a thrill to get to be part of its success."

 

Prior to joining the USA Field Hockey staff, Lewis served as  director of operations for Cascade Promotion Corporation, an incentive and loyalty marketing firm based in Redwood City, Calif.

 

“We are all very excited to have Gabrielle as a member of our team,” said USA Field Hockey Executive Director Sheila Walker. “She brings a wealth of experience in management planning and program development and her skills will be a tremendous asset to our programs.”

 

Lewis attended California State University, Hayward where she is scheduled to receive her bachelor's degree in political science with a concentration in law in 2008.

 

USA Field Hockey is the National Governing Body for the sport of field hockey in the United States and is responsible for the promotion and development of the sport throughout the country. USA Field Hockey trains and prepares teams to participate in international competitions such as the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and International Hockey Federation World Cup.

 

Sun Safe Play Campaign

Initiated in June 2007 in memory of former USA Field Hockey teammate Maria Whitehead, the Sun Safe Play! Campaign is an effort by the USA Field Hockey National Team and the Melanoma International Foundation to provide athletes who regularly play, practice and compete in the sun with educational information on melanoma and skin cancer prevention. A former member of USA Field Hockey teams and a college coach, Whitehead died from melanoma in November of 2006. USA Field Hockey’s Sun Safe Play! Campaign encourages all outdoor athletes to practice sun safe habits and make healthy decisions while playing in the sun.
