Concludes in Indio
INDIO,
Calif. – Red Rose, a team with a roster featuring
current and former national team players and college coaches, continued a
long tradition of National Hockey Festival success with a 1-0 win over
Head to Toe to capture the Open Division championship to conclude USA Field
Hockey’s National Hockey Festival at the Empire Polo Club.
In the day’s other championship final, first-time champion Jack & Jill
defeated ASU Sun Devils 2-1 to win the Mixed (co-ed) Division.
The championship games concluded the four-day Festival event that featured
224 teams and more than 3,800 athletes. On Saturday, USA Field Hockey
crowned 28 high school-age group champions in the Under-19 and Under-16
divisions. The Festival is scheduled to return to Indio and the Empire Polo

championship game, defending Red Rose used a second half goal by former USA
National Team member Tracy Larson Arndt to capture its sixth Open Division
title at the Festival. In addition to Arndt, the team’s roster included 1996

members Steve Danielson and Shawn Hindy as well as former National Team
players Ryan Langford, Jeremy Cook and Tara Jelley.
