Katie O'Donnell

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Field Hockey National Squad members Katelyn Falgowski (Landenberg, Pa.) and Katie O'Donnell (Blue Bell, Pa.) head a list of USA Field Hockey athletes selected to the 2006 Penn-Monto/NFHCA High School All-America Team as selected by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

In addition to Falgowski and O'Donnell, the All-America team features three members of the USA Under-21 squad including Amy Daniel (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood HS), Meghan Dean (Marathon, N.Y./Marathon  Central HS) and Katie Reinprecht (North Wales, Pa./Mount Saint Joseph Acad.).

All 32 selections to the high school All-America team are members of USA Field Hockey and competed in USA Field Hockey programs with 31 of the honorees receiving training in USA Field Hockey's Futures Program.

Part of the USA Field Hockey Olympic Development pipeline, Futures provides talent-identified athletes with the opportunity for advanced training and tactical instruction at regional sites through out the country. Athletes in the Futures Program are eligible to participate in elite-level competitions and tours and earn selection to advanced USA Field Hockey camps programs.

A senior at St. Mark's High School in Wilmington, Del., Falgowski earned selection to the All-America team for the fourth time in her career. She missed a major portion of the season training with the USA National Team and helped the USA to a sixth place finish at the 2006 World Cup during September and October. She has appeared in 24 international contests for the USA.

O'Donnell earned selection to her second All-America team after previously receiving the honor in 2004. A senior at Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pa., she also missed a portion of the season training with the USA National Team and competing in the AstroTurf March on Madrid four nation tournament in September. A member of the 2005 USA Champions Challenge team, O'Donnell has appeared in 21 international contests for the USA.
