USA Women's National Indoor Team

Lauren Mazziotto seeks a return trip to the Indoor Pan Am Cup after playing in the
inaugural event in 2002.

USA Field Hockey hockey has announced its 2004 national indoor squad
following team trials, Jan.18 at Ursinus College.
The USA team will compete in the 2nd Indoor Pan American Cup, March
18-21 in Valencia, Venezuela.
The 12-member squad features 1988 USA Olympic goalkeeper Donna Chung
as well as recent USA national team members Lauren Maziotto and Jessica Coleman. Maziotto
was a member of the 2002 Indoor Pan American Cup team, while Coleman earned a silver medal
as a member of the USA Pan American Games team last summer.
The team also includes current high school and collegiate coaches
Denise Zelenak (head coach Drexel Univ.), Nicky Hitchens (asst. Coach Drexel Univ.), April
Keating (head coach Fairfax High School, Va.) and Tina McDavitt (asst. coach College of
the Holy Cross). Mazziotto also serves as an assistant coach for 2003 NCAA champion Wake
Forest Univ.
Also selected to the team were former collegiate standouts Debbie
Phillips (1983 All-America West Chester Univ.), Jen Nixon Mathias (1993 All-America East,
Boston Univ.), Kim Susko (Duke '02), Sandra Cook (2000 All-America East, Drexel) and
goalkeeper Maria Keesling (1988 All-Region, Bucknell).
Alternates to the team include Sarah Broderick, Jill Dedman, Sue
Elliott, Meredith Kirkpatrick and Kelly Shea.
Northeastern Univ. assistant coach Scott Smith will serve as head
coach for the U.S. team.
