Longstreth Sporting Goods Continues Support of USA Field Hockey

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 19, 2004) – USA Field Hockey announced that Longstreth Sporting Goods has signed an extension to its agreement as the Official Competitive Apparel Partner of the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Field Hockey Teams.

Through the sponsorship, Longstreth will provide USA Field Hockey’s outdoor and indoor national team athletes with game uniforms, warm-ups, stick bags, coaching staff attire and other items of competition apparel. Additionally, USA Field Hockey named Longstreth the exclusive licensee for USA Field Hockey’s Futures Program and National Futures Tournament.  The agreement continues a business relationship
between Longstreth and USA Field Hockey that began in 1989.

"At Longstreth, we are committed to the growth and development of the sport of field hockey,” said Barbara Longstreth, a former USA national team player who founded the company more than 25 years ago.  “Our support of USA Field Hockey over the years - through the national teams and youth programming - demonstrates our passion for the game."

Located in
Parkersford, Pa., Longstreth (www.longstreth.com) is North America’s leading supplier of field hockey sticks, goalkeeper equipment, team uniforms and training aids. The company specializes in clothing and equipment for female athletes in field hockey, lacrosse and fastpitch softball.

“USA Field Hockey would not enjoy the stability it has without Longstreth Sporting Goods’ 15 years of support,” said USA Field Hockey Executive Director Sheila Walker. “In this day and age, this longevity of sponsorship is indeed rare.”

USA Field Hockey is the National Governing Body for the sport of field hockey in the United States as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). As such, USA Field Hockey is responsible for the training and selection of athletes for international competition as well as the promotion and development of the game of field hockey in the United States.
