USA Field Hockey Junior Women’s Blanked by Argentina in tourney semifinal

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Argentina's Daniela Maloberti scored four goals in leading her team to a 7-0 win over the USA junior national squad in the semifinals of the Chile Four Nation Tournament in Santiago.

With the loss, the U.S. under-21 team falls to 0-3-1 at the tournament and will face Canada in the 3rd-4th place game on Sunday. Undefeated Argentina will meet Chile for the tournament championship.

Argentina jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead as Maloberti scored her first goal at the 23rd minute to give Argentina a 2-0 advantage. With the game well in hand and Argentina holding a 4-0 edge, Maloberti added the final three goals of the game late in the second half at the 47th, 62nd and 64th minute.
