USA's Pat Hayes Named to Olympic Technical Delegation

Colorado Springs, Colo. -- USA Field Hockey's Patricia Hayes (Birmingham, Mich.) has been appointed as a judge for the 2004 Olympic Field Hockey tournament, Aug. 13-29, in Athens, Greece.

An honorary umpire with the U.S. Field Hockey Association, Hayes adds the honor to a list of international appointments that also includes the 2003 Pan American Games (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic).

Other recent appointments for USA Field Hockey officials include Ruth LaJoie as the Technical Director for the Women’s 4 Nations Tournament in Cordoba, Argentina (Argentina, Germany, Korea, The Netherlands), Feb. 11-15, Indoor Pan American Cup  (Valencia, Venezuela) men’s tournament appointees Allan Woods (TD), John Hritz (TO), Saleem Aaron (Umpire) and Steve Simpson (Umpires Manager); and Women’s indoor appointees Woods (TD), Hayes (Judge), Lurah Hess (umpire) and Simpson (Umpires Manager). For the Pan American Cup tournaments, USA assignments include Avtar Calay (Judge) and Gus Soteriades (Umpire) for the men’s tournament (London, Ontario) and Barb Carreiro (Judge) and Jun Kentwell (Umpire) for the women’s event (Bridgetown, Barbados)
