U.S. Field Hockey Women's Pan Am Practices Open to Coaches, Public

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.. –The U.S. Field Hockey women’s national team’s final preparations for the Pan American Games will be open to interested coaches and spectators, 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., July 17-18 and July 21-24 at the U.S. Field Hockey National Training Center.

At the practices, coach Beth Anders will give coaches and fans a preview of the squad in its final preparations for the Pan American Games, Aug. 2-13 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Pan American Games serve as the continental qualifier for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

At the Pan American Games, Anders and the U.S. Team will begin the competition Aug. 3 against Jamaica before taking on Uruguay on Aug. 5. The U.S. concludes pool play on Aug. 7 against Canada before advancing to crossover and classification games. Pool A includes reigning World Champion Argentina, Chile, Trinidad & Tobago and host Dominican Republic.
