New Zealand Tops U.S. Women's Field

Italy The United States women's field hockey team dropped its second straight
game with a 2-0 loss to New Zealand at the FIH Champions Challenge.
New Zealand's Niniwa Roberts scored two
second half goals to lift the Kiwis to the victory. After a scoreless first half, Roberts
put New Zealand on top in the first minute of the second half with a field goal past USA
keeper Amy Tran, and then added a penalty corner goal three minutes later to seal
the victory.
With the loss, the USA drops to 0-2 at
the tournament while New Zealand evened its record at 1-1. In the day's other action,
Germany remained undefeated with a 3-2 win over Japan, while Spain defeated Italy, 3-0.
The U.S. returns to action on Tuesday
against Italy.
