US Field Hockey Women, India Draw Again; Decisive
Game 3 Set for Tuesday

After months of
waiting, the World Cup hopes of the U.S. womens field hockey team will come down to
one game. A 1-1 draw with India in Sundays Game
2, the second tie of the three-game series, will push the two teams to a decisive final
game on Tuesday at the Cannock Hockey Club.
The U.S. jumped out to a 1-0
halftime lead after Tracey Fuchs connected on a penalty corner shot in the 22nd
minute. The goal was the second of the series for Fuchs who also recorded the tying goal
in a 1-1 draw in Game 1.
India matched the U.S. score in the second
half when Sita Gussain scored the equalizer off a penalty corner in the 48th
minute.
As a result of the 1-1 draws in the first two games, the winner of Tuesdays
final game will advance to the World Cup, Nov. 28- Dec. 8 in Perth, Australia.
