US U16 Men Improve to 3-0-1 at Vancouver Festival

The U.S. Field Hockey Under-16 men's team improved their record to three wins and a draw at the Vancouver Hockey Fetival.
The U.S. team played to a 1-1 draw with the Hawks U18 team before pounding Ontario 8-0 in its second game of the day.
The U.S. needed a late goal by Richard Jordan (Camarillo, Calif.) to pull out the draw with the Hawks, but coasted to the win over Ontario after jumping out to a 3-0 halftime lead. Sammie Ibrahim (Simi Valley, Calif.), Sean Harris (Moorpark, Calif.) and Kyle Maddux (Camarillo, Calif.) added two goals each in the victory while Michael Halsell (Camarillo, Calif.) and Malachi Mahan (Camarillo, Calif.) completed the scoring for the U.S. team.
The U.S. will be in position to win the tournament with a victory over Vancouver Gold in the final game of the tournament.

The six-team tournament features the young U.S. team in competition with squads from Vancouver, Calgary and Ontario. U.S. national team head coach Shiv Jagday leads the team at the tournament.

The 16-member travel squad includes Emmad Faroouqui (Canoga Park, Calif.), Jonathon Ginolfi (Moorpark, Calif.), Michael Halsell (Camarillo, Calif.), Sean Harris (Moorpark, Calif.), Sammie Ibrahim (Simi Valley, Calif.), Richard Jordan (Camarillo, Calif.), Gurpal Kundi (Glendora, Calif.), Kyle Maddux (Camarillo, Calif.), Malachi Mahan (Camarillo, Calif.), Chris Niles (Camarillo, Calif.), Austin Pile (Fort Collins, Colo.), Tyson Reeves (Ventura, Calif.), Todd Sandlund (Ventura, Calif.), Shaya Taherizadegan (Westlake Village, Calif.) and Spencer Wagner (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
