England Tops US U21 Team in Junior
World Cup Warm-up
College Park, Md. -- Nadine Merabi and Imogen
Robertson each scored a pair of goals as England handed the U.S. Under-21 team a 7-0 loss
in a pre-Junior World Cup practice game at the University of Maryland.
The two teams will meet again on Tuesday, May 8 before leaving for Buenos
Aires and the Junior World Cup, May 9. The US will compete in Pool A of the Junior World
Cup with New Zealand, The Netherlands and India, while England will compete in the Pool D
of the 16-team tournament with Canada, Koea and Russia. The Junior World Cup begins May
14.
The three 25-minute period scrimmage also featured appearances by US National
Team members Tracey Fuchs, Katie Kauffman, Kristen McCann, Carla Tagliente, Jill Reeve and
Tara Jelley.
