Important Information, Please Read Carefully:
1. Selection to participate in the National Championship tournament can only be achieved by registering for your local High Performance Training Center program @ http://www.usfieldhockey.com/hp/men/, go to the New York site and register there. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE A US FIELD HOCKEY member to participate so please make sure you have your membership up to date.
2. Eligibility to compete in the National Championship tournament can be achieved through possessing USA Citizenship or by residing in the USA. In 2008 the National Championship will be offered in the Men's Division and U17 Division (U17 as of 01/01/08).
3. We plan on making the selections for the Team ASAP. I know everyone needs to get tickets to California quickly, so we will email the selected travel team to everyone once it is finalized.
4. From a COST perspective, there is a $350 athlete fee for participation in the Championship Tournament. However, due to the cost of travel this will be waived for the athletes paying more than $350 to travel to the event, but if costs are more than $350 there is no reimbursement for extra costs. The athlete fee covers 5 nights in the tournament hotel (Town and Country, San Diego), Olympic Training Center access fee, uniforms, meals and internal transportation.
5. The tournament travel day is June 24, the tournament matches are on June 25, 26, 28, 29 (June 27 is a rest day). Therefore, the red-eye flight back to the East Coast will be your best option (arrive East Coast early on June 30).
