USA/Canada Challenge
The USA / Canada
Field Hockey Challenge Cup is an annual competitive event between
the USA and Canada (primarily British Columbia athletes).
The Challenge alternates between the USA and Canada.
Many fun events
with the Canadians are planned throughout the competition weekend.
Affectionately, named the CanAms, the event provides our athletes an
opportunity to enjoy good competition with our neighbors.
The tournament
fee is inclusive of all room, board, entertainment, and competition
costs. Parents may come but athletes will be required to stay as a
team together and will be the responsibility of their coaches and
USA Field Hockey.
Athletes are
selected from the National Futures Championship. The
Olympic Development Select
athletes are given the first opportunity to represent the USA.
The USA won the
Cup in 2004 and 2005. In 2006, the test series
event led to a U21 defeat of Canada.
