Futures Curriculum $79.95/year
Coach the game and teach the skills exactly as they are presented in USA Field Hockey’s Futures Olympic development program. Developed by Terry Walsh and U.S. goalkeeping coach Justine Sowry, the 2006 Futures Curriculum is based on a 10 session training program featuring the technical and tactical skills and drills to give athletes a sound foundation in the game. Presented through a clear and easy to follow format, the Futures Curriculum includes lesson plans and video clips to clearly illustrate the concepts of the featured skills and drills. The companion goalkeeping portion of the curriculum complements the field-player lesson to ensure fully-integrated training sessions.

About the authors...
World renowned coach Terry Walsh brings his reputation for building successful teams to the USA as USA Field Hockey's Technical Director of High Performance.
With an unparalleled passion for hockey and a world reputation in the area of sport technology, Walsh is providing U.S. athletes and coaches with the cutting edge tools and expertise needed for success at the highest level.
Considered one of the world's top coaches, Walsh led the Netherlands men's team to a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. An FIH certified master coach, Walsh served as head coach of the Australia men's team from 1997-2000 and served as served as a consultant to the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team for the 1996 Olympic Games.
An innovator in coaching technology, Walsh worked as an elite coaching consultant and software development manager for Sydney-based SportsTec, a leading provider of sports training technology.
A three-time Olympian for Australia, Walsh earned a silver medal in the 1975 Olympic Games in Montreal and a fourth place finish at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. He also appeared in three World Cups for Australia including a gold medal performance in 1986.
A two-time World Cup gold medalist, Justine Sowry has serves as the USA's goalkeeper coach.
A native of Australia, Sowry played in 128 international matches. In the cage for many of Australia's world dominating teams from 1991-2001 Sowry served on the collegiate coaching staffs of Louisville and Stanford before joining the USA coaching staff in December 2003. An Olympic and World Cup umpire for Australia, Don Prior brings his considerable talents to the United States in initiating the USA's Umpire Boost program.
A veteran of 132 international matches, Prior officiated the Olympic Game in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000 including the gold medal matches in 1988 and 1996. His World Cup appearances include 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1998 with gold medal matches in 1994 and 1998.
In addition, Prior has served as umpire manager for the Men's Champions Challenge (2002, 03), Women's World Cup (2002), Champions Trophy (2003), Olympic Qualifying Tournament (2004) and Olympic With a proficiency in information technology, Prior developed Cyber Whistle to share his umpiring expertise and provide an educational tool for other umpires. |
